So the motor on my moultrie atv spreader goes out on Sept. 13th while planting fields. No big deal, I've had the spreader for several years and used it spread fertilizer, so I feel like I got my money's worth out of it. After searching all over the internet with no success, I contact Moultrie customer service on Sept. 16th to order a new motor. I was thinking I'd just swing by their warehouse in Calera and pick it up after work. After waiting for 30 minutes to speak with a customer service rep I'm told the motor will be $40 plus $17 shipping. I asked about picking it up and was told they don't offer that option any more. After some protest about the $17 shipping for a $40 part the dear old elderly lady (that didn't know the difference between an ATV spreader and a swiss watch) talked to her supervisor and they were going to do me a huge favor this time only and wave the shipping. I properly thanked her and explained the sense of urgency on needing the motor soon and she replied their goal was to ship within 5-7 business days and I should have it within two weeks.

Fast forward two weeks later to Sept. 29...the motor has yet to arrive. I call moultrie and after waiting for another 30 minutes to speak to someone, I'm told the motor was on backorder until Sept. 26 and my order was on the loading dock and I would receive it this week. Well guess what....it's Friday and I need to plant about a ton of seed/fertilizer this weekend and the #&(@ motor has yet to arrive mad

Also- In an attempt to support an Alabama based business, I bought a brand new Moultrie 990-i camera about two months ago and it turned out to be defective. I call moultrie and they inform me and I can ship it to them and they will take a look at it but their repair department is running about 4-5 weeks behind. Who wants to wait for over a month to get a brand new camera repaired? I returned it for a full refund and got a browning camera and so far so good.

So I guess they are so busy repairing their POS cameras they don't have time ship a spreader motor.

I would have just bought a whole new spreader if I'd known it was going to be such a time consuming hassle to order a part from them.

I guess it made too much sense the way they used to do business, allowing people to come by their store and purchase what they need when they need it.

To say I'm somewhat unimpressed with moultrie right now would be an understatement!!

Sent my "brand new" camera to them 3 weeks ago. I was thinking about calling them but I guess there's no need.

They went very corporate. I had trouble with them a couple of months ago and posted about it here. I talked to a girl based in Salt Lake City and she was useless. Needless to say I'll never buy anymore of their chit

Post your dissatisfaction/troubles and when you call tell them VERY specifically that you're posting their shortfalls on aldeer.com and other hunting forums. Eventually they'll adjust but if y'all remain silent they won't.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

I bought a spreader from Bass Pro several years ago for about $90 and it still works great. If it tore up I would just order a new one rather than go thru the hassle of repair parts. I make sure to wash it out well and spray liberally with WD40 before I put it away.

If it is brand new, return it to where you bought it.

They have been making changes since first of year, putting summit,Moultrie, and fishing line all under one roof and it's not working. I know the people there and it's a bad big corporate attitude environment. The service and quality is not what it use to be. I'm definitely done with the cameras

It shouldn't be a hassle to order the part, that is my whole issue. If you can't purchase it in person then it should be as simple as a five minute phone call, give a credit card # and a few day later it arrives in the mail like magic. Or if we really want to think outside the box....maybe online ordering so you don't have to wait for 30 min to talk to someone that doesn't even know what a spreader motor is.

I can buy a gun online from out of state in less than 2 minutes and never speak to anyone and pick it up at a FFL dealer in two days. It obviously takes more than a week to get a spreader motor from B'ham to Jasper and that's after I spend more than an hour on the phone with them.

Count your blessings. I bought one of their atv spreaders this year and it lasted two weeks.

I hate to hear that. They use to have good customer service, sort of. I had a new camera mess up several years ago. It was the I-40 when they were their top camera. I called and talked to a guy in their customer service department. I wasn't rude or ugly in any way. I just told the guy I wasn't shipping them the camera, I was bringing it to them. This is a quote, hence the quotation marks: The guy said, "Well, I'll be easy to find, I'm 6'1 and 300 lbs. I got there and met him. He was about 5'8" and about 300 lbs. He was nice in person, but suffered from shrinkage. LOL He took my faulty camera, walked to the warehouse and gave me a new one.

Sent Moultrie 3 cameras the first of September to be repaired/replaced a month later still waiting.

Went to summit tree stands the other day to buy replacement cables told me they don't sell to public anymore.

So you are the reason they no longer let anyone come to their warehouse grin that explains everything.

Nah it's probably because of that 5'8" tall 6' tall guy

PRADCO and all of its hunting and fishing companies (Summit, Seat of the Pants, Booyah, Rebel, Moultrie, Knight & Hale, etc.) is owned by B'ham-based EBSCO, which in late 2013 had a pretty big management change and since then they have made significant changes.

So, just FYI ... don't blame the folks at Summit or Moultrie for everything under the sun all the time. They're marching to some new orders from the brass in many instances and things that may have been handled one way in the past - like replacing your camera by "walking it in" or buying stand cables - may no longer be a possibility due to orders from above.
