Allright ya'll this is serious. If I am going to do this I need specifics to work with. Not a decision I am taking lightly.

Skinny, on a Mississippi hunting forum I visit they have a " christian fellowship" forum" description says " a place to share verses, devotionals, sportsmen devotionals, ask for prayer etc." I think this has worked out well on that site. I think most if not all of the posts about religion on aldeer are christian based so I like the idea of calling it Christian fellowship.

Skinny, I do some research on the Christian Apologetics Research Ministry website. They have a talk/discussion forum. I don't participate there as far as posting, but I sometimes read certain discussions. This is a global forum, and they have a full rule book in place. We don't need anything that complex. I bet if you browsed over a few you'd have a good idea for some basic Aldeer rules. Specifically these might be a good guide for you to select a few rules for the forum: Read 6, 12, 14, 25, 31, 41a...you might find a couple that fit what you want to accomplish here. http://www.carm.org/forum-rules Otherwise a good set of rules would be as follows: 1. Do unto others as you would like done unto you...Golden Rule 2. Keep discussions Civil 3. Be respectful of opinions and views, even if you disagree. 4. Love others as Christ loves us. 5. No obscenity or vulgar posts or pictures. 6. Feel free to participate, but do not intentionally derail But I really like Southwood's post above....just set out the principles of the forum and tell us to behave and be good Aldeer citizens...no need for a long list of formal rules. Just my 2 cents.

Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you shall be forgiven. And judge not, and ye shall not be judged; condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned. Luke 6:37
Looks like a good starting point for it and a Good starting point for some people to look at and study.
Well said brother!

What religions will be allowed? Since we all live in a free country we should let all religions be a part. Our founding fathers did put freedom of religion in there for a reason.

Native Americans have very different religious beliefs than Christians and they were the original deer hunters. So I do not think it would be right to exclude them.

I would leave prayer request in the general forum. We may not all walk the straightest path but we can send one up for a brother or sister.

Not all Native Americans, I know most creeks are Christians, However some are very traditional and call him "The Creator"
I love the rut. The woods are like a bunch of roided up meatheads fighting over a girl.

Ok, so the first rule of the upcoming religious forum should be that Christians and Native Americans are only allowed to participate? Is that right?

I grew up a baptist.......but that polygamy just seems right. How about mormans? It should fit.......didn't they think the native Americans were a tribe of Jewish people?

See... that's why I am very hesitate about a religious forum. Say a 40 year old man wants to marry a 19 year old woman, but a 22 year old man wants to marry a 16 year old woman? Say riverrat wants to marry a goat? Its a lot to keep up with.

The way i look at it, no one should be excluded, reguardless of thier views.
Jesus loves all ppl, and God is no respecter of person. If ppl are not allowed a voice, whats the point of a forum?
I don't think there needs to be a ton of rules.
Be civil. Period. Treat others how you want to be treated. Dont derail a thread. If you don't agree, or have a different belief, post another thread. If faith or religion dont interest you, don't click on the forum.
I agree with what, Beer Belly i believe, said earlier. I would not ban all faith based comments from the general forum, as faith is a important, daily part of life for any believer. However, If someone wants to have a discussion regarding faith, religion, scripture, evolution, atheism, or any other topic that directly impacts faith or beliefs, it should take place on the religion forum.
