Sorry guys. Can't seem to buy a deer these days. Nothing but spikes and other young bucks showing themselves in daylight. Could not even get a grown nanny the past week! Hope it picks up!

I havnt been able to go. My new son is finally here, just been busy as heck between work and the family and christmas. I was in denial about hunting alot with a newborn and 2 other toddlers before deer season. Reality kicked in around thanksgiving lol. Everything is getting back to normal so will be going more soon. Havnt been since thanksgiving, gonna give it a go this weekend. Good luck fellas

Been a good week. My son got his best one ever today - a 7 pt (had a broken brow). Pretty good sized body too; we had a time getting it in the truck.

You guys have any luck? I killed a doe the other day. I will get the picture posted at some point.

Nope. I have this weekend and 30 & 31st and I'm done.

Fellers im just havin trouble finishing the deal. Missed 2 does this weekend. And missed 2 bucks late last year with this same 30-30. 4 missed deer with it in a row. Im about ready to throw it in the scrap metal bin, but its all I got to hunt with rite now. Last yr after the 2 misses I borrowed a 270 and killed my best buck to date with first shot with it. So I reckon I need to get me a new rifle, or at least buy a cleaning kit and clean my ole 30-30. Prob needs it, been hunting 5yr with it and never have. Fell down on it a blue million times to. Ive seen 2 spikes but just couldnt bring myself to attemt a shot. I know were the does are, so maybe ill connect soon. Gonna keep tryin, aint been seeing many bucks tho. Been some giants killed around me last 2weeks, so I know there moving. Hopefully soon

Passed on a 9 pt Sunday. Only about 2.5yr old.

All I have seen is a spike. Im goin these last 3 days, hope to get a buck, at this point ill shoot any 2.5yr old. We are in no position to take the lead, so gonna let the does walk. Buddy let me borrow his 30-06, so if I see a buck, im throwin some lead at him, unless he is little, just cant bring myself to shoot a 1yr old. Been slow for me, this past weekend I hunted 12-14 hrs and didnt see a single deer, but for some reason i still got high hopes.

Yeah it's been a rough season. Been getting pics of a much larger 10pt in that area in daylight. The 9 came through early in the afternoon, first time ever seeing him. If he had come by around dark he probably would have been on our team scoreboard. I still have 2-3 more hunts to do. Good luck.

Good luck guys! I was hoping to bow hunt today and tomorrow, but looks like work will keep me out of the woods until Saturday. My son and I will be after them all day on Saturday though. I won't shoot any small backs, but if my son sees one that is "legal" where we hunt it might be in jeopardy.

Took off work and hunted all day long. Didnt see a single deer. Lonnnggggg day. Shoulda went to work and not used a vacation day. Oh well, other than the wind kicking my butt all day, it was a beautiful day. Gonna do it again tomorrow, may be a brown its down kinda day. Good luck fellers

No deer yesterday, frustrating. Only seen 1 spike last 10 days of season, just wasnt meant to be for me this season, oh well, there is always next year. Congrats on the kills this year fellers.
