Daughter has me looking for a bow. She is 24 but not really big enough for an adult bow yet. I am wanting something used (Cheap $150 or so) if anybody has anything laying around they would sell. Needs to be in between a youth and adult bow but still enough to kill a deer. Any suggestions what i need to be looking for?

I would start out by taking her to a good pro shop and look around. Also, get the tech to measure her for draw length and see what kind of poundage she can pull. If you are going to buy a used bow, you will need to know these things in advance.

Great advise, buying her a bow that doesn't fit her, would only be a waste of money, and frustrate her.Once her have here draw length you might check the classified ads on Archery Talk.com
I don't know how much bow you can get for $150 tho.

Don't be stuck on shopping for & buying a used bow for $150.00. There are a few companies making bows specifically for kids & females. If you were to find a good used bow for $150 & then had to accesorize it you might be surprised at how much you wind up spending. I strongly recommend looking @ the Parker Sidekick Extreme package. It sells for around $329 & is already accesorized with sights, sling, quiver, sts, & a whisker biscuit rest. Also, the draw weight adjusts from 20#-40# and has a draw length adjustment from 18"-27" & Parker has their grow with Parker program where if she outgrows the 40# limbs they will upgrade them to 40#-60# limbs for a mere $50.

Also, if the Parker is to pricey for you give the Bear Apprentice a look. It is a comparable package that cost about $80 less. One more thing to consider since you are buying for your daughter is that both the Parker & Bear bows are available in pink camouflage. I am going to my archery dealer on 02/21 and picking my 7 year old daughters new Parker up.

new bow with these quality's and rigged is a deal at $350. Here are the details on the bow.

Hmmm found the Parker at Gander Mt. online for $279.99. 18 to 28 inches and 40 to 60 lbs. What is the minimum pull to be legal? Isn't it 60 lbs? I ain't buying it for her I am just making recommendations. She has money burning a hole in her pocket. But I guess there are worse things for her to take up lol.

Just remember she'll need fixed blades at low draw weights.

Yea I have plenty of Muzzys so she can have a few to hunt with. I guess she is really serious she is signed up for the hunter safety course. Started naming off all the other stuff she needs and she is looking for it all. Dang guess I will have to get my bow restrung. Guess I shoulda made her go to the range and show her a 270 don't kick that much!

Mathews is making a new inexpensive bow, it's mission by Mathews and they have draw lengths for anyone on that bow also it has all the new technology and seems to be very accurate, you can also find a pse vendetta for a very good price and they are smaller and lightweight and have any draw length or weight you could ask for.

A good friend, think he still has it, has a Mathews MQ1 all set up in his garage. It's a same model bow that I been using for years now and would never part w/ it. AND it is a bow, if she decided against bowhunting, that would sell fast. PM me if intrested. thumbup

My wife is 5' 1" and 100 pounds. She shoots a Diamond Razor Edge. I searched for the most adjustable bow possible before buying. It will shoot from 30-60 pounds and adjust from 19-29 inches in draw with just an allen wrench. No extra cams. You can't beat that.

Make sure you get it good and pink for her. It will help keep here interest.
