Going to give it a try this year either in Illinois or Ohio. Does anyone have any experience or advice for the Shawnee in either state. Thanks

Make sure they haven't had a die off recently.

Shawnee in Illinois has some good deer hunting. Haven't hunted there in 10 plus years but around crab orchard lake is good area.

Ohio is a lot cheaper I beleive...It's about 500 to bow hunt in Illinois..and I think for around 150 in Ohio...

I'm going to Ohio in 3 weeks. I hunted the Shawnee in Ohio the first week of November last year. Lots of big deer but the terrain is very steep. We hunted Scioto county and then drove to Tranquilty Wildlife Area in Adams county for a few days. Big deer there for sure. The cost is 150 for the license and an either sex tag and a doe tag. I think you can buy up to 2 more doe tags if you like. We came at the tail end of the rut, there was a group from Alabama there a week before us that did well. A 130 class 10 point and 2 nice 8's.
