Directed my father to your post. He's been looking for a good crossbow in that price range. Have a lot more confidence in excalibur vs Barnett.

That is an awesome crossbow. I had one and put quite a few upgrades on it. You can add the string suppressors and another little gizmo to it and quiet them down pretty well. I forget what the other little gizmo was. I think it was a limb stop/bumper. I also put the flemish string on mine.
I could only shoot once at each dot on my target at 30 yards or I would ruin bolts.
