I know there was a safety razor thread awhile back. Who purchased one after that thread, or who already used one?

I'm about to get one and need to know what razor/blade combo is working well. I also read were some are more aggressive because of blade angle, thus making it a little harder to get a close shave with out cuts.

I have grown to hate the multi blade cartridge type razors due to price and other reasons.

Ill most likely be ordering off amazon. What say ye?

I have used cheap bic disposable razors for years with no complaints. I shave while showering, and keep one at the sink to hit anywhere that I missed in the shower. I probably change razors every 3-5 weeks.

I use one. I bought this razor Razor

And purchased this selection of blades to figure out which ones I like the best Blades

I also bought a badger brush, cup of suds, and a stand. I still use the stand, but switched to regular shaving cream as it tends to be quicker for me and I am always rushed in the mornings.

I wouldn't consider going back to a cartridge type razor, and typically get 4-5 days out of a blade.

I bought one after seeing the thread on here and love it. I bought one off Amazon for myself, but I ordered one from classic shaving. Com for a gift. Call them and they will help you with what ever you want.

I use Whitney's girl razors. They have 6/7 blades and shave really well. Pisses her off when I dull them up. I used to use the cheapest bic they had. They'd cut the chit out of you and only had one blade.

I shave in the shower. No shaving cream just water. I hate the price of replacement 5 blade cartridge. Is a safety razor something I should look into also

Yes.

IMHO they shave just as close, but the advantage is that the blades are cheap enough you can toss them at the first sign of getting dull.

Well, I ordered a Merkur Long Handle razor and a16 blade sampler pack of blades. I think there are 14 different brands of blades in it to see what I like. There was also a soap, cup, and brush set for $8. I got it also to see if it really makes a difference. I have been told once you try the soap you won't go back to foam. We shall see.

All together it was $54. If its as good as i think, it won't take long to come out with packs of cartridge razors $18 a box. Once I find a double edge brand i like, they are usually around 10 cents a blade.

Ill let yall know shortly.

all I have ever used is Bic disposables. The only thing is is that I don't use cream I just use whatever shampoo my wife has sitting around. What got me started doing that was when I decided to start shaving my head I had all of this mens shampoo with nothing to wash with it so I decided to try shaving with it.It works better than edge gel.

Whippeddog.com sells some good ones along with straight razors. I get the blades from Wal-mart. Less than 2 bucks for 10 blades. I don't think I will ever go back to multi blades and using shaving foam.

I use a. Mekur HD with Bic Platinum Plus blades and Proraso. This seems to be the setup that I've settled on. Also went with an inexpensive badger hair brush that took about two weeks to get broken in but has become very comfortae.

Don't know why I didn't go this route sooner.
