When did these new rules meet the requirements of the Alabama Administrative Procedures Act?

It may not be as "over" as they think. Did you have a chance to review and comment on them?

If you haven't ever applied for a gator tag and don't care to then why don't you just find another thread to bombard with your useless thoughts? I guess they should consult you every time they implement a new hunting or fishing regulation. Directed at 49er

Yea that was exactly their point, and like I said earlier I have no problem with it. But for my own personal chances of being drawn, I'd rather not have to spend that kind of money.

tfd,

When my right to hunt is affected by an agency rule, I certainly should be consulted. Why shouldn't I be?

Haha ok so now I'm an unemployed ghetto thug half ass with a minimalist attitude.

All I'm saying is that for me I see this as a benefit because I can spend $20 as opposed to $120 and my odds of being drawn are increased.

When was your right to hunt affected? Were you able to freely hunt gators in the past in Alabama? Nope and unless you pay to play you will never have the right to hunt alligators anywhere. Why don't you go spew your nonsense somewhere else? With your way of thinking (lawless hunting and fishing(a free for all))we wouldn't have a live animal in the whole state left to hunt.

Your odds of being drawn will not increase, now everyone will have the same possibility of being drawn but your odds did not increase. This just goes along with everything else that's going on these days, upward sports where no score is kept but the worst kid did just as good as the best kid. Growing up I was always taught you get what you put in but everyone that wants to put in a minimal amount these days expects maximum awards hence the ghetto thug getting free groceries while I put my life on the line and work my butt off and spend days at a time away from home to get my groceries, never mind he can also afford more groceries than me. I want to pay more. Hell, I wish the entry fee was 100 dollars, that would keep some of the half asses at bay and allow the serious gator hunters a better shot at a tag.

I see your argument as well, and maybe I am a half ass gator hunter because I don't feel like paying that much to have a chance to go hunt them. I've enjoyed the heck out of the two times I've been and will be entering again this year regardless of how the draw system is set up.

I never said you were a half ass gator hunter, the half asses I am talking about are the ones that don't own a boat, don't know what it requires to harvest an alligator, just put in because the thought of doing what the guys on swamp people do seems cool, and will not put in the necessary effort to fill their tags. Nice gator by the way, bigger than the one I killed last year after 4 nights of hunting and an estimated 11 or 12 footer getting off the hook at 6:02 am the second night of the hunt. 9 ft 180 lbs

I tend to agree with tfd, though i also see the benefit of equal chances. There are going to be a LOT of people this year who say "Hell, 20 dollars to hunt a gator? Ill throw in 20 bucks" These people are the ones who dont have the tools necessary to hunt a gator. It takes A LOT of money to hunt gator. It hurts the purpose of the hunt when people dont fill there tags.

Plenty of people at six bucks a try didn't have the tools for gator hunting, either. Twenty ain't going to separate the crowd too much.

But the new way keeps those with the tools from spending the extra money in order to increase their chances.

thats why i think the entry fee should be 100 dollars, let the wannabes whine but i dont think anyone that is serious about killing a gator would whine about 100 bucks and it would definitely fill more tags.

im not answering anymore of your questions, i found out a long while ago that when your questions are confronted with sensible answers and hard evidence you clam up and move on to a new topic with someone else and you try to dominate them till they prove you wrong and then you will move on again without ever admitting defeat.
