I posted this Dallas Co buck in another thread and thought I'd post it here. My son missed this buck, which it was my fault as I had his scope turned up too high as we were overlooking a clearcut and the buck ended up being really close to us but in the heat of the battle of seeing the buck and realizing the buck was headed away from us and attempting to rattle and grunt the buck our way, which it worked, I forgot to turn his scope down. No question, my then 11 year old son missed the buck flat out and couldn't get another shot at this fairly close buck.

Upon going back in my head after the shot and miss, I tried to make sense of the buck's antlers as I glassed him twice but after the first glimpse of him, I knew he was a shooter so I didn't really concentrate on his antlers but I remember thinking... "What's up with those antlers?", as I just couldn't make sense of what I was seeing. Anyway, I put up a camera that same day and maybe a week later, I got him on film. Makes my son sick every time he looks at the picture!! I'd rather my son had shot this buck more than a 140 or 150" eight or ten point. Crazy rack and antlers growing out of what appears to be more than three pedicles.

I see three pedicles then on his right side, there's a four or five inch antler coming from somewhere in front of his ear. Then on the buck's left side, two tines are coming from somewhere but they don't look like they're coming off his main beam (on his left side). Just wild!!!

Enjoy!

I do not think I will ever see a deer quite like that again but I do not hunt there anymore and I did not hear of this buck being killed so I think he probably died of natural causes. I kind of protected this bucks existence for a few years in order for a guy in the club to try to kill him however he never saw this buck.
