Saw it yesterday. Always wanted an egg but never wanted to pay what they cost. Sams has this one. It's called Kamado, not Kamado Joe. Even though the lid hinge is stainless it felt a little unstable. And feedback would be appreciated. Mash Here

"Kamado" is a generic name for that type of grill. A BGE is a "kamado" grill.
That one is a "Vision Grills" brand kamado grill. It's assembled in China, so that would kinda turn me off right there.

I was in the Mobile Sams last week and saw them. It has no comparison to a BGE, KJ, or Primo. The ones they had in the store were wobbly, and just felt cheaply made. Yes I would agree. If I'm spending $600, I'd rather spend 800 and get a grill for a lifetime.

If i am not mistaken there is a Kamado brand that has been around way longer than BGE. We have an orange one that is 21 years old that we cook on often

The large feels more stable than the extra large, because the extra larges are really big and heavy.

I saw the grill at Sam's and was talking to some guys about buying it. They educated me on ceramic grills. I think I'll just get a EGG when I buy one.

I have a Char Griller Akorn from Lowes and have been very pleased with it. My neighbor has a smaller BGE and was wanting something bigger. He was impressed enough with the Akorn to go and buy one.

Check out the Akorn, lots of good reviews on the Que forums even from BGE owners. I built a table for mine.

I almost got this Akorn before I got the Vision Pro at Home Depot, I compared carefully and am very happy, I think I could have spent a lot more money without getting a better grill. I've had it almost a year & use it about 2-3 times a week. I always used Webers before. I do have a nice Weber Gold that I'd sell as a matter of fact.

The Vision Pro has a lot of things that are different than the Sams Club version, a better air inlet & regulator built into an ash pan with a trap door for an electric coal starter, and the cast air turret on top. Looked like it makes it a lot more user friendly.
