The February season thread got me to thinking. How many of yall have killed a 140? I was thinking of all the hunters I know and very few of them have killed a deer that big. Its maybe something like 3-5%. How many have you killed in how many years? I'm talking about Alabama deer only. For the record I have seen some, but haven't killed one yet.

I run an arrow through a 150 plus and didn't get him back in 2005.

Never had one officially scored - but, based on my measurements with a cloth tape - I've killed one (142"), however I didn't take into account any deductions.

I've taken two above the 140 mark. One that went 140 3/8 and one that went 171. All gross scores though.

None in 26 seasons. Got one that's close and shot one this year that would've been closer but didn't find him.

4 in AL, 141, 142, 145, and 148. Official scores. Three of those came in two years. I've had an opportunity at several more.

A 140+ is hard to come by.

1 at 156"

Very good opportunity to kill 3 more, a 140 and a 160 and another that would have been all over 160+

Been hunting for 25 years, seriously hunting for about 12. Not many of em out there regardless of where you are in Bama

Third deer ever. I was 18 and I am 45 now. He had a six inch drop tine on his left side and scored 142. I have killed several in the upper 120's and a 130" 8 point. I killed two right at 130 a few years ago a ten the morning of Dec 29th and another ten the afternoon of Dec 30. That was a great year. I have seen several that would have been close but for whatever reason they got away. Usually it was a one shot deal. I either got them or I didn't. Seen them once and then they were gone forever! Few-and- far-in-between that is for sure! That is putting in a lot of time in the woods for several years. Out of state I have killed a few over the 140 mark, including a 176 and a 165, both with bow.

Never. Only seen maybe 3 on the hoof that would've made it, but 2 were in Ohio.

I have been fortunate to kill several; including a 149", a 150" and a 160". All were taken in South AL. That said, I hunt a LOT and have been lucky enough to hunt some prime properties. But, they are rare and there have been many years that I did not even get a 140+ on camera, much less see one!

Several in the high 120s close as I've come.

I've only killed 1 and he gross scored 140 3/8. I've been deer hunting since I was 7 and I'm 29.
