I have really bad weeds at my place. I did RR corn last year, and I got in 3 sprayings and there were still tons of grasses.

I'd like to head that off this year. What do y'all spray before planting? Atrazine? 2,4D?

2,4D is a post emergent broadleaf herbicide. It does nothing to kill or prevent grassy weeds.

I don't know what the label says for corn so check on it, but Pendant at 2 quarts per acre does a good job at keeping crabgrass at bay.

You can also used Atrazine and Simazine in combination. I think that is the old tried and true corn cleanup pre plant herbicides. Having said that, I'm not a row crop farmer.

Yeah. I'm far from a farmer. I just see guys that plant a few acres of the stuff and they have a lot less weeds than I. Clearly I'm missing something.

This is what the last I planted looked like. I planted corn and soybeans together, they were not planted in rows. The seed was broadcast and cut in with a harrow. I put the Pendant pre emergent down after the crop was planted. I don't remember for sure but had probably sprayed with Glyphosate when the first picture was taken.

First and 2nd pictures are the same plot. No grass. Very few broadleaf weeds either.
