Anyone seeing any activity around this area? I haven't found the first scrap on my place. However, a nice 8 point ran into the side of my truck last weekend in Springville on my way to our place. I came back after hunting to look for him and the area right off the county road was tore up with scrapes and rubs. Just curious what everyone else is seeing?

Same thing here man. I have seen numerous scrapes over in Springville but nothing at the Odenville or Ashville places. Seems odd they are so hot in one place and not 10-15 miles away

I hunt Ashville as well, plenty of rubs and a few scrapes, but very little rut activity. Although I did watch a spike run at a doe a time or two last week. That's not unusual to have spikes frisky a couple weeks before the big bucks get started.

There is one in Pell City called Majestic Outdoors www.majoutdoors.com. I don't know much about it though.

I hunt in Springville . We have killed some good deer in the past 2 weeks with the glands starting to stink , but still not seeing and chasing or scrapes at all.

Checking some timber between Pell City and Ashville this week and saw lots of rubs and scrapes. Think they are rutting, but have enough does they aren't having to chase yet.

Its funny about where you hunt in the Springville area, the bucks are doing something different every five miles down the road. Where I hunt, which is about about two miles from the Big Oak Girls Ranch, my bucks are still running together as of yesterday.

Usually in the flat woods, you can set your watch by MLK day being the peak of the rut. That's the case in my little corner anyway.

Got that right. One small rut around full moon in December and full blown in February up until turkey season. Was that way for years on my lease in Ashville.

Wish I still had it.....................
