Been in Sardis for 2 days. No rut activity whatsoever. A lot of movement, no chasing though Really? I watched several bucks from the house Sunday night that were pestering every doe that came across the lil power line in the back yard and they weren't just 2 yr olds doing it. I was shocked also. We hunted tues pm, all day Wednesday, Never saw less than 15 per trip, smaller bucks feeding in the same field with 10+ doe. I was really shocked. I was with 12 other hunters and we all had the same results.

Update for yesterday afternoon. I saw 15 with 4 being bucks. Two were mature and one of those were following behind a doe and yearling. Not chasing he was just walking behind them 50 to 60 yards. The other mature buck had no interest in does. He was just out feeding. To bad he was only a 4 pt or he would have seen his last sun rise. Huge body and neck just poor genetics.

Up date from yesterday afternoon. I saw 8 deer total with two being bucks. Both looked to be cruising as they weren't feeding just walking with their nose to the ground. I did see a good 6 pt this morning on my way to the camp that seemed to be locked on a doe.

I saw 11 does this morning. Most had really dark hocks. Haven't seen any chasing yet. Got a few 2.5 yr old 8pts on camera checking does out. This is in Beloit

Hunted Marion junction yesterday, does. One doe was doing her best to run her yearling off.
Have seen a good many young bucks cruising but no big boys chasing yet.
Should be any day now.

Hunted Friday to Monday. Saw 14 does during that time period, none were being chased/followed.
Killed a nice 9 point yesterday morning that came out solo. He stunk a little bit.
That's the only buck I saw all weekend.

I know this is an old post but I just seen it , I used to hunt at the beers place every year mlk week and it was some of the funnest times I’ve ever had in the woods, a lot of chasin and big bucks we killed, sucks they sold it and to an asshole I heard to boot

SE Dallas County: We hunted the 10th-12th. My brother saw a shooter and small 6 cruising in the hardwoods but couldn't get a shot. We saw minimal deer movement in the green fields. Headed back up to hunt 14th-17th. Hopefully, Mr. Big makes an appearance. SE Dallas County: We hunted the 10th-12th. Been in Sardis for 2 days. No rut activity whatsoever. A lot of movement, no chasing though You must be in a different part of Sardis than I hunt in because myself and the guys I hunt with have seen plenty of activity. Saw chasing and watched a buck freshen a scrape the other day.
