Am new to AL. Is the primary rut, in the Bankhead, over? And is there a secondary rut there?

East side still going, west and south its about done. You still will have some chasing here and there with the different deer. At my place I have seen chasing all the way till Jan. Its hard for me to hunt middle and late DEC. Seem like most of the deer just disappear.

Most of it is over. What you will see now is a few of this year's fawns reaching their first estrous cycle. That can happen through January, but the primary is over. The farther south and east you get the later the rut occurs. It'll be real good right now along the cullman co line side.

I had only three deer checked on last weeks Zone B hunt, and a big 0 today, even as good as the weather was. It really slows down after November.
