The neighbors dogs keep getting in my cow pasture and I was looking for a good air rifle to shoot them but not kill them. I just want to give them a good sting. Any idea on what fps I should buy?

I've told them to keep them off. I have shot them with an old daisy bb gun and gets a yelp out of them and they run off but you can see that bb moving in the air its so slow.

Crossman 760 or Daisy 880. Both are pump guns and you can control the fps with the pump.

My farm is in the county. I haven't seen them messing with the livestock yet but I'm not out there during the week. I have someone watching over it for me during the week.

If you have already warned them, the best thing is to use your deer rifle and just eliminate the problem and then dispose of the evidence.

The last thing you want is for someone's beloved pet to get home and die in their arms. I know your intentions are good, but you are getting the comments because a guy on here just recently nearly experienced that. We think his dog is going to live but the higher powered pellet and BB guns are deadly.

The dogs won't stop just because you increase the pain level. All you are going to do is to teach them to be afraid of you. In order to get them to stop coming on the property, they would need to be afraid of the property. A subtle difference but it's a theme used when training animals.

My advice is if they arent damaging anyone or thing leave them be...you will cause more trouble for yourself than its worth. This is a very controversial subject on here right now after someones dog being shot with a pellet gun.
Some peoples dogs are like their kids...how would you feel is someone shot some kids with a pellet gun because they wouldnt quit running and playing in a pasture? See my point?

I don't want to hurt or kill any ones dog. I just looking for something that might make it feel like a bee sting. I saw some of the pumps are only 500 too 800 fps.
