after the ameristep ligh speed broke at the hub, while trying to set it up, i took it back to dick's sporting goods, and returned it, got 23.00 in trade for a comfort zone predator ground blind, which is made similar to the dog house, anyway got home with it still in the original box, took it and the carry bag out of the box, then the wife started taking the blind out of the carry bag sh said well chat this one is broke it goes back, as it turned out one of the fiber glass poles was shattered, and fell out of the blind we set it up in the yard , course it didn't want to stand up with one of the poles missing. Buti really liked the blind as the windows were big and held in place with magnets the shoot through mesh was removeable because of the Velcro, which i though OK, plan ahead. with the rackets it makes the big zippered door to get into the blind is 60 square inches i feel two hunter can use the blind, cramped, but it was 60" tall i stood up inside of the blind, anyway it goes back tomorrow for a ameristep gunner spring steel blind which i hope it is not broke. for the same price of 59.99the gunner is three inches shorter. in height.this year i can't have no luck with ground blinds the gunner is only 4.5 pounds which the predator was 12 pounds.can't win for losing.i can't find the company on the internet Comfort Zone ground blinds. i bet they are out of business. their QC shows why.if the field & stream ultimate wasn't so heavy i might get another one, but the poles broke in mine not much better than a 400.00 double bull. Joe at dick's said i am too hard on ground blinds i said the next one, i can weld it back together.

Blackhawk, I have good luck just cutting a hole in some thick brush with loppers and making my own blind. I can set my camo folding chair inside and be more hidden than you could ever get in a pop up ground blind, plus it's free and you don't have to lug a heavy ground blind through the woods. All you need is a folding camo chair in a bag and a set of loppers and I can fit my loppers in the bag that my chair is in and I do bowhunt like this and kill deer.If there is no thick brush available there are other ways to get hidden. You can cut big leafy limbs and stick them in the ground and cut holes in them to shoot through.

i don't own a double bit axe. i took the blind to dick's got my money back, then went online and ordered the ameristep Gunner ground blind that is made of spring steel, i s a very nice ground blind it will be here in about a week free shipping same price as i paid for the other blind. so other than putting up with i have not made any brush ground blind that will keep you in the dry when it is raining.so far i am happy with tax's i spent 64.79this blind weighs 4.5 pounds. comes in a backpack type carry case. so i should be good to go.Should and will be is two different things.if this one breaks i will weld it back together.i think i am all fixed up. the next blind will be here in about a week.either way it will be here long before the season open's.

dear dick's chicken little said the sky is falling so, due to the end of the earth is near, deer season is cancelled, no one will buy guns , nor ammo, oh btw black hawk will buy whatever he wants when he wants.and will wastes his money however he chooses, and shop where ever he chose. i am sure the sun will shine tomorrow, cause the sky is done falling.due to the lack of interest there will be no hunting allowed this year in ALABAMA.since all tents are sown together i bet it does until i put the seem seal to it and water repellant spray to it, either way is better than making all kinds of racket chopping trees to make a ground blind out of brush, plus the fine for cutting trees on a wma or refuge.which is illegal.getting hot stinking up the place and, you have no roof to keep you dry, no wind break of the tent blind.if i was a negative as some of you i would run headlong into a brick building just to see if it hurts.hence the story of the two bulls in the pasture full of cows, the young un wise bull run up to the older much smarter bull and said lets run down there and breed one or two of those cows, the much smarter wiser older bull said no son we will walk down there and breed them ALL.NOW MAYBE SOME CAN FIGURE OUT WHO IS DOING THE BREEDING. The easiest blind I've found to build/hunt from/whatever is to tack up some burlap around 3 or 4 trees, carry in a seat, and just hunt. It takes very little time and is really easy to do. If you're worried about noise, go in a few days before you hunt and hang it up. Or you can just go place a seat at the base of a tree. It seems like you're over-thinking all of this...
