If I use it, I use it as a cover scent on my boots or with a drag. I'll buy whatever don't cost a arm and a leg. Never had any luck with scent bombs and things like that.

I've used tinks 69 and code blue with good success.

I've never had any luck drawing in deer with any scent. (Maybe my scent was detectable too and spooked them?). I used to set up a camera on a trail leading in to a stand with Tinks69 on a scent rag. Only got one pic of a doe sniffing it over three consecutive seasons. Killed three out of that stand though.

I used Black Widow scents for the first time last year. They make their scents specifically from southern deer for southern deer.I don't know if it drew deer in but they certainly smelled it if they were in the area. And had none bust to the smell of it like I've had with some other products.

I've had my best luck with coon urine as a cover scent. Doe urine on the bottom of my boots as I approach my stand. That seems to work the best for me.

I've used doe in heat type scents, but noticed does don't like it. So if no does are around, then no bucks to come calling.

I've read about using vanilla extract, here's a video of a buck (supposedly) sniffing some

i have had in years past had luck with tink's #69 when it first came out. but not noticeable since then, i did buy ever calm herd in a stick. it to me smells like deer. last time i went hunting i tried the buck bomb, never saw a deer that day so i don't know if it attracts or spooks them off. thought about trying code blue, but the ever calm was cheaper, so i bought it i think the tinks works best during the rut no other time have i had luck with it, as for cover scent i have earth scent.in west Tennessee i used to hunt inside a cedar tree, that i cut limbs so i could get my stand into. it worked pretty good at covering up me smoking, but now i don't smoke so that is not an issue.

Tinks #69 for me hands down. I have killed 3 nice bucks using it. For some dumb reason I switched to code blue and golden estrus and I never saw a buck using either one.

I have used both Buck Stop Doe in Heat and Code Blue with undeniable success.

First, Sprayed Buck Stop Doe in Heat all over my boots and bottom of pant leg. Set stand till about 10:30, nothing. I could hear someone stuck out on the road so I got down and walk out to the road, about 1/2 mile away. Got too them and it was my brother and his buddy, they had gotten stuck trying to exit the power line onto the road. So we are digging them out when I look down the road and there is a, it turns out to be, very nice 7 point with his nose to the ground following my footsteps in the road. At about 200 yards he stops and lip curls and my 30.06 brings him down.

Second, sit a stand one afternoon with Buck Stop Doe in Heat on my boots and pant leg, small 6 point comes out of swamp, nose in the air and beelines to the bottom of my stand. DRT with .308 between shoulder blades.

Third is two part, wife got talked into buying some Code Blue from guy at feed store. She proceeds to pour/spray entire bottle on herself and surrounding bushes. The next afternoon she tells me she thinks that Bears have been messing with her stand, a home made ladder stand, and tells me her story, I laugh myself into the dog house and now she is scared to go back out by herself. I go out the next morning and find that a small buck had actually made a scrape at the base of her stand and rubbed the stand legs!! He also scrapped under several other small trees and rubbed several more. I find the empty bottle and put it in my coverall pockets.
Fast forward 2 years later, due to work I had not hunted in 2 years but got away one morning to a WMA down the road from the shop. Sitting in a climbing stand I reach into my coverall pockets to get my gloves out to put on and accidentally pull the empty Code Blue bottle out with the gloves also. It falls and hit the stand with a loud clank and broke the plastic top off and fell to the base of the tree. After about 30 minutes I see a very old cow horn spike coming up the trail. About 30 yards away he stops and is winding the air hard, he then cautiously trails right to the base of my tree and starts the lip curl and grunting, then he catches a small gall-berry bush with his antlers and scrapes right there. While he is doing all of this a Doe with twin fawns amble up the same trail he came from and she too trails right to the bottom of my tree, sniffing the bottle but she spooks and slinks away slowly. However not before old man cow horn spots her and proceeds to court her heavily and after repeated rebuffs of his attention she rises up on her hind legs and gives him a pretty dang good thrashing. He runs off, head hanging and beds down about 20 yards away. I didn't have the heart to kill him after his humiliating rejection so I just sat there and watched him for about an hour and a half when it started to rain and he got up and moved on and I quietly climbed down and went home with a new appreciation of the outdoors.

I use plain ole natural doe urine as a cover scent along with earth scent. Tinks 69 once the rut starts. Also any deer killed at the camp I`m johnny on the spot to get whatever urine is in the bladder since it`s the real deal.

I used Buck Wicked doe in estrus Hot Stuff last year. It is bottled hear in AL. Last year was their first year on the market. I got several pics of some great bucks. The one I killed was working a mock scrape I had put out about three days before. I had placed the mock scrape on the edge of a gas line. About 4:30pm I heard a rustling in the leaves on the edge of a five year cutover and hardwoods. He came right to the mock scrape worked it over and started on across the gas line at about 150 yards. Good buck and great hunt.
