I am wanting to go back to school but I cannot decide what to go for. What is a good technical field to get into? I am talking about a 2 year degree or less.

You can get two year computer tech degrees... Can't beat the tech field... Salaries are up.. and will only to continue to go up...

Not sure if there are any 2 year health informatics programs but if there are it's a big field that is constantly growing.

Join the army. Free training. Free OJT. Free $$ for college. Oh and you get paid and depending on you value you will likely get paid higher in the Army than anywhere else -- all things considered I have the utmost respect for those serving our country and my grandfather was a 42-year Veteran, but with the current adminatration we have running our country, there is no way in hell.

I would recommend precision machine tool technology . Great job forecast, good pay, I have a job open now. Good machinist are hard to find, and even harder to keep. I don't know of a machinist (I know a lot of em) that is without a job, and most that work for me could probably lose their job today and be working somewhere else tomorrow. Just my 2 cents!

My mom went back to school at 44. Got a Masters in Geology at the (cough cough, uggggh) University of ALABAMA. I grew up (and remain) an Auburn fan, but was EXTREMELY prod of her for that. She taught school (SW MO state, then Okaloosa Walton in FWB FL) until she retired.
NEVER think its too late, she enjoyed the last half of her working life ( although I'm sure some of her students may not have, remind me to post some of those stories about camping trips at Shell Creek in Camden some time) more than the first half.
You only go around in life once. If you want to do it, DO IT!

Nursing is a good field. 1 year for LPN 2 years for RN. Good pay, all kinds of schedules and hours to choose from. No trouble finding a job.

Machinist or Welder would be my vote. Big demand for good people to do both of these.

This Male nurses are highly favored buy Dr.'s according to the wife. Too much drama with women. I wish I could go back right now.

If you want to know about physical therapy pm me. I would contact hollywud. He makes so much money he can afford jeans that actually fit, instead of having to roll them up.

Instrumentation and electrical, can't find enough qualified tech's to pass a drug test. x2, there is a instrument process tech school in Baton Rouge, a man can write his ticket in a career from the place. As LONG as there are still process companies operating.
