Could be the mags, as mentioned above. I've got a few mags that have, I'm assuming, weak springs in them, as sometimes they will feed and other times, the mag will not feed the next round, or will partially feed it.

Its common with a .22. Try using soft points instead of hollow points. Or a different manufacturer of ammo.

^^ this! Or take your magazines apart and clean and lubricate them as well. But a thorough cleaning is necessary 22's are dirty ammo

If it's 15 years old and never been disassembled it's WAY overdue for a deep cleaning. .22 ammo is nasty stuff. The bolt needs to come out, get cleaned and the receiver needs a goos brushing out. When it goes back together it only needs about 2 drops of oil where the bolt rides.
I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

the mag is a good thought that hadn't occurred to me. the only one i've got came with the gun. it's plastic, maybe holds 10 or 12 rounds. i'll try another one and see what happens. thanks Yea i was referring to the butler creek plastic mags, the factory mags are good. May need to clean mag too like some of the other guys suggested also

Look up the velocity of the ammo. Needs to be up around 1250fps or you'll experience some jams with a 10/22. If it is "standard" velocity 1100fps or less... try with some higher velocity rounds.
I had a 10/22 and it liked Federal 510 the best about 1240fps. Jammed as you described with CCI Standard velocity ammo.

mine eats stingers as fast as you can pull the trigger, could be lead build up in the chamber though.wear it out with some hoppes and a new bore brush. then it should rock.kill a many a bull frog with mine, they are fun.my 10/22 is factory standard, no different barrel. the way i go it from Ruger.i wanted but haven't to put a green mountain barrel on it, but not done that yet. Once we had Bush, Johnny Cash and Bob Hope. Now we have Obama, no Cash and no Hope.. What's next?Assad As Always WAR EAGLE!

It's been my experience the Remington bulk pack "golden bullet" ain't so golden. The ones I have regulary fail to fire in every 22 I own, and fail to cycle my 10/22's and MK II's. I shoot Federal bulk with no problems. I shoot the Federal and Wolf match in .22 sniper matchs and have never had a problem with either. Wolf is very dirty ammo but my 10/22 eats it up.

i don't remember mine ever jamming, i bought a can looking thing with Winchester 22 hp. they get lead all over you loading the 50 round clip. every kind i have bought was dirty firing stuff. i think that is the nature of 22 rim fires.
