If the ATV comes and goes from hearing I wouldn't think it would bother them bc the "threat" or noise came and went. As trox said, my vote is neither

Choosing between the two evils- the ATV. Deer where I hunt don't pay near as much attention to exhaust and other mechanical odors as they do human scent. If I have to travel across a food plot in order to get to a bow stand, I'd much rather someone ride me to the stand. We have one food plot which happens to be our largest and there's only one way in, right through where the deer travel, stage and eventually feed. Luckily I have an electric golf cart now for just the purpose.

Doesn't matter to me as long as they keep moving and don't stop

x2.... We don't have that problem though ......You either go in first ahead of the guy.... or you hunt somewhere else where you will not drive by someone.

If the atv is daily and perceived as routine and comes and goes, the deer will be cautious, but won't always head for the next county. I've driven fairly close to them on the tractor and they would stand and watch. Minute you stop and look at them, it's white tails and hooves. But nothing is a definite.
Same can be said about walking. If you're poking through the woods slowly, forget it. Walk like you ain't hunting and looking, and I've seen them stand, watch and not move.

Do you want to hear him gobble, or do you want to kill him.
