The whole bill in my opinion is stupid. You either make it legal, like Texas or its not legal. All this other certain distance, line of site crap is just that. Instead of looking for bait, now Leo's will be looking for whether the bait is hid good enough
I don't care one way or the other. I've hunted over it in Texas with success and without success. Just as I have hunted here without it and had success and didn't have success

Having a pile of corn out is no guarantee you are going to see deer. Just like hunting over a green field, you may or may not see deer. In Florida you can dump ten tons of corn out and hunt it is you want to, but you don't have any guarantee of seeing deer.

Funny thing is that most of the people who support this really want hunting over bait legalized - not worried about supplement feeding. Personally I hope it does not pass because if it does we will never have a chance to get actually hunting over bait legalized.

I agree , either make it legal without the bullshit restrictions or keep it illegal . Does not matter to me. I do not think it will make a difference because of all the illegal baiting that happens anyway.

It's legal here in La but it don't help in seeing deer. You can dump a sac of corn on the ground and they will eat it up in 3 nights with help from coons of course. But will never see one in daylite, all pics are at nite. Some of our members think the only way to kill deer in bama is to feed. They used to hunt in Clark co. And coosa co. They said everybody fed so they did too. I told them if they wanted to feed to find another place to hunt, they don't like it but they don't feed our place and they still kill deer. We killed 16 deer 3 good bucks and passed a lot of deer this year without putting a grain on the ground. Being in law enforcement and all the blood sweat and tears I put in getting the place ready so they will have a place to hunt not to mention all the expense we have, I cannot get caught as I will lose my job and if the place get shoot down and can't take my kids or I can't go hunting I will not be a good person to be around. If they do legalize it I told then they will pick one spot on the place and that's where they will hunt. I don't want it where I'm hunting.

if you can watch deer going to a feeder you are using bait illegally
even if you cannot physically see the feeder.

It is stupid to have to hide it. I can create ( and will ) a scenario where the deer WILL be seen coming to it anyway.
Silly really

Can't you, under the current law, hunt over corn that was planted and never harvested?

I hope it passes jut for the fact that an area is defined that way hunters and game wardens know the law.

If you don't like it don't hunt with it. Pretty dang simple

At the CAB meeting yesterday commissioner Guy said, "They will be defining area in an upcoming meeting". Most think it will be 100 yards away and out of sight.

So when will Dan Moultrie introduce the feeder that shoots corn 100 yards in an adjustable direction, over vegetation??
I can see it now.
