It's my little man's first deer and he couldn't have been more excited and neither could I. I wasn't going to go, but he really wanted to so I took him. We didn't get to the shooting house until 4:30 but I knew we still had a chance to see something. After sitting for about 30 min and talking he decided we needed to pray and I concurred. He thanked God for the beautiful evening, our time together, and if it was in His will please let us see something. 5 min later he sat up and I asked him what he was doing "I'm getting ready, I can feel it; God is sending us one right now" I told him I would believe with him and 30 seconds later I said "there is your deer". I wanted to wait a little bit to see if a buck would come in the field and he would have none of it. Then I thought "it doesn't matter what it is to him" so I told him to get ready. It was the hardest I've ever had to work for a shot. I still have to help him aim and it was tough helping him aim and letting him do the rest while I held the butt of the gun. I told him I had it on her the best I could and he could shoot when ready. There was no waiting for him..BOOM! and down she went. When we got to her he told me...I'm so happy I could almost cry. He never stop talking the whole hour ride home. It is by far my best hunt to date!
