The wife and I use them and have had good results, some of their less than common stuff seems to do better than their more common stuff. But that could just be how we are planting things. Overall, they are a good company to buy from.

It's a good idea to have some heirloom seeds on hand. I'd love to try some heirloom tomatoes but I can't keep souped up hybrids alive more than 4 months. Dang diseases.

I dont fool with the maters too much, mostly cause we dont eat a lot of maters. The other seeds though are good as gold. carrots, corns, beans, greens etc...

Another good seed catalogue is Tomato Growers Supply. They have heirloom and hybrid 'maters, all kinds of eggplant, sweet and hot peppers.
Jt has been so warm here that I've already planted a variety of of the above.
It's worth getting a catalogue if you have not already planted. Tomatogrowers.com or 888-478-7333
i've traveled a long way and most of the roads were not paved.

I had a Cherokee purple last year that I brought at a farmers market. I'm not a big fan of maters but those rocks. What's the big difference in buying the seed verses just buying the plant.besides the cost Commercially produced plants like Bonnie and others are sprayed with growth inhibitors to keep the plants short while in the little 6 pack containers. It takes them quite a while for that to wear off. In my experience when I plant seeds at home, those plants are much healthier and more "stocky" than store bought plants. When I do buy plants, I buy them from a nursery that starts their own seeds.

Thanks for the info, Furflyin Do you start the seed indoors first then transplant or stick the seed straight in at the garden

I start tomatoes and peppers indoors. All others go straight in the ground. It's time to start the tomato and pepper seeds.

I didn't order from them only because of the 45 day MINIMUM turnaround on orders. What the hell kind of way is that to run a seed business, or any other business.
