I haven't but my brother did once on all 5 shells in his gun while trying to shoot a 10 point!! Turned out that his action was so dirty that the firing pin wasn't hitting hard enough to make it fire....got it broken down and cleaned really good by a gunsmith and its worked fine ever since then

Doesn't look like the firing pin hit that one hard enough. Looks like a shallow primer strike.

My recommendations from a quater century as a Soldier: 1. Treat misfired rounds with extreme caution. They can and sometimes will go off unexpectantly. Get rid of it, preferably in a hole, a creek, etc. 2. DO NOT put a misfired round back in your weapon! Clearly, it's faulty. You don't know how it's going to react when struck a second time, since they aren't designed to be struck twice. Don't compound your problems with an exploding breach. 3. Dissassemble your bolt. Soak it (as in dripping wet, preferably soaking in a small bowl) with solvent overnight (i.e.,Break free, WD-40, powder solvent, etc). Next day, wipe it dry, apply a light coat of gun oil, reassemble and test fire a handful of rounds. If all works well, take the bolt out, wipe it down, reapply a light coat of oil and you're back in business.
Hope this helps!

Looks like a shallow strike to me as well. My Marlin 30-30 started doing it a few years ago. Would always fire the 2nd shot but not on the first. Then it got to the point where it would not fire at all but would leave a dent in the primer. Since my Marlin has 2 piece firing pin I thought it was gunked up in between the pins. I soaked it in solvent overnight and cleaned it real good but it still continued to strike shallow. It turns out I had a weak hammer spring. I replaced the hammer spring and all is well now. Glad to have my gun shooting again. I sure have missed taking it in the woods with me.
