I'm set up on 2 white oaks that the deer have been hitting hard - it looks like cows have been under them! I've got an acre clover plot 150 yds to my left and had 2 does and 2 fawns in the clover at daylight. They just now fed off, heading the opposite direction

Good luck, everybody!

The does and fawns I saw earlier came back and began working their way toward me. I knew that once they got within 50 yds I'd be in the wide open. The lead doe got to about 40 yds and I went ahead and slowly drew. Of course, the ole gal spotted me draw and froze forever. The fawns ran on up toward me, but the doe wasn't budging. I stayed at full draw for the longest and the lead doe began angling away from me, but was actually getting closer (if that makes any sense). She stopped at 30 yds and looked dead at me. I squeezed the trigger and she ducked about a foot. I felt good about the shot and I know I had it on her, but it looked and sounded like I shot right over her back. She ran about 100 yds out to the next ridge and started blowing. Dammit man!

Back in the same tree as yesterday morning. Killed a doe here so hopefully it's not messed up. Hard to leave all these swamp chestnuts

Good shot, Brett! Congrats thumbup

I just talked to my Dad - he's hunting on the other side of the farm from me...

He had a doe and twins come up and shot at the doe. He said he felt good about the shot, but when he shot all heck broke loose...one of the fawns was behind the doe when he shot and somehow the fawn got hit in the head by the arrow! Dad said the arrow hit the fawn, it ran about 3 circles, and fell dead. He's not sure if the arrow went through the doe and hit the fawn or what??? He was climbing down to go investigate when I talked to him crazy

My Dad failed to mention that he shot through some limbs at the doe this morning. It turns out that he must've hit a limb, deflecting it over the doe's back, right into Bambi's neck/head. Pretty crazy to say the least, but it worked out for the best! 50 lb doe fawn

Shooting does with fawns is ridiculous. Not very ethical. Shooting spikes, glad i don't hunt around you guys.

What makes it not ethical?
