Been busy guys welcomed my daughter into the world at 230 wednesday morning. Kalyn Hope Mason 6lbs10ounces 21 in long. Things will be slow for a week or so around here.

Well fellas I had an awesome first week this year and came home with no deer in the cooler but that's alright. Saw a nice bow shooter out of range and grazed a doe with the dreaded right under me shot via my bow bumping my climber. Things are looking like my new lease is going to be real nice this year.

Congrats again buddy its an eye opener, heart changer and a great responsibility that God gives us to raise a child. I have a 22 month old boy and have another on the way due in April and it is awesome.
Going to try again tomorrow afternoon to see if I can see a deer, and maybe get a shot at one. If all else fails ill go to my trusty doe hole and try to get us some more points.

Congrats shootist, this is the worse i have ever started off a hunting season, i haven't seen the first deer yet. Its driving me crazy.

It will happen man my sightings have been way down this year too. My food plots have really paid off so far this year as far as sightings go. The refuge hunt starts sat morning and i will be in a great escape funnel that always produces. Maybe ol big boy will try to slip out. Good luck to all this weekend!

I think if you are born in Jackson County, mountain hunting knowledge is taught in kindergarten just like the ABC's. Its the only way anyone has a chance at out smarting these moutain deer. Anyone born outside JC has to hunt minimum 5 years in JC to figure it out.

Well got #3 on the refuge hunt this morning 5 pointer. I took pics but i went to the farm to check trail cams and left my camera and cards on the wheeler. I will get them posted within a couple of days. Anybody have any luck i saw 5 different bucks this morning. I hope to upgrade this one he just got a little too close for public land.
