Thomas Jefferson. The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Life is too short to only hunt and fish on weekends!

If being a dumbass was fatal some of you would be on your death bed!

I made a quick two day trip to Ohio this past weekend and didnt get anything either. Saw plenty of deer, just not the one I wanted to shoot.

The Fat Lady aint finished singing yet. The outfitter called me and said that I could come back up after muzzle/shotgun and hunt for $125 per day, enough to cover my room and board. I may just have to take him up on that offer. Had a blast anyways and got to see some awesome deer.

I think if Alabama would eliminate our rifle season and jack up our the price of our out-of-state tags then we could possibly stay home in state and hunt these type of deer in a few years. Of course, thousands of acres of soybean and corn would help too.

Went to Illinois twice (Hamilton County)Never got close enough for a shot. My son shot a 138 inch 8 point on the second trip. This all happened just before they started responding to calls in the rut.
May go back but may stay for the Alabama season.Did see one monster at 500 yards across a soy bean field.

You can always go back and hunt public land up there through mid January. Your tags are good throughout the entire season in Illinois anyway.

If you go late season focus on the available food. Where it is is where they will be.

ROLL TIDE !!!

Went to Higginson and Henry Last weekend. The bucks were chasing. I had a blast never seen anything like that in my life.

Went to Illinois Oct 1 thru 5 killed two does, shot 140" 8pt lung/liver which thanks to the coyotes they ran him 3/4 of a mile and we lost blood. Went back Nov 5 thru 8 saw 9 bucks over 140" two over 160" one over 170" that was the most action packed 4 days I have ever spent in the woods saw 30 or 40 different bucks. We try to shoot mature deer only on our farm and only one came in range. A 140" 10 point that I missed. Going back the second week of Dec for one last show.

We made our annual trip to Northern MO. We had the best, worst trip ever. Last year we took four shots and killed four bucks. An 8pt 120+", 9pt 130+", 10pt 130+", and a 176"+ 15pt. This year we saw a lot more bucks and does, however, our kill ratio was way down. We had 11 shots and we only got one 10pt and two does. I did hit a Monster that would go 175-180" 12pt. I hit a limb and causing the hit to be low and back ( we think it was a liver hit). We backed out to come back the next day. Well it started to rain around 10:00pm that night and did not quit until the next morning around 9:00am. We tracked until he hit a cattle pasture. We looked for the next three days. I got it on vedeo. I am still sick about it. However, I am headed back up there next week to hunt and look for him some more. We saw several other shooters in the 150+ range. It was ruff there was to much corn still in the fields and the weather was not cold enough. They moved only early and late. We did not see the mid morning movement we usualy do. We stayed in the tree every day until at least 11:00am or latter. We saw around 35 bucks in 5 1/2 days of hunting between four of us. This was not a guided hunt was all on private ground. The area we hunt has been four pts on one side rule for a few years now and it has made a "BIG" difference. USA

The world and all it's beauty is best seen through the eyes of a hunter.
