I like to put the smack down on some predators myself.

I'd rather skin a gut shot deer than work any day WTFO.

Kill em all. Coons, Cats(including house cats), yotes, possums, and whatever else that thinks about messing with my birds. If you don't like it kiss off.

Hey guys, I kill about every yote I see too, and bobcats...well, they usually get a free pass. I like to kill predators as well, but you are not going to kill enough of them while sitting in a tree stand to make that much difference.

Happy hunting. laugh

You have issues. What in the crap is this rant for? I didn't criticize you at all for killing the cats. All I said was that it isn't going to do much for your turkeys to kill a cat or two here and there. I wasn't even addressing that comment to you. You need to take a darn chill pill and lighten up. I haven't said anything critical of you at all.

And if you won't biological FACTS regarding predator removal and the impacts on turkeys and deer I can show you it doesn't work in most cases.

Like I said, happy hunting, but with an attitude like that it's probably hard for you to achieve.

I have to agree with MattBrock on the issue of making a difference by killing a couple of cats. The best book ever written on wild turkeys in my opinion was written by James Dickson. He suggests that even though predators are the biggest threat to poults, eradication of the predators is dang near impossible in order to improve turkey populations. I still say kill every predator you see, one thats dead wont eat a turkey! I caught 13 bobcats and 9 coyotes on my property last year and yet the turkey hatch was a complete failure this year due to habitat destruction by developers. No matter how many predators you catch or kill, others will establish in that territory within weeks.

Dang Matt, you always getting into it with somebody laugh . I really didnt see where is was coming down on you dawg. I for one agree with you though. I killed 3 last year and 1 this year. Thats 4 cats down. How many poults you think those 4 cats could have taken down in a year?

You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.
