well to start with....the deer might have winded you......second of all was you in cover at 20??you need to climb as high as the cover is..if it's at 14ft stay there...if it's at 25 climb to it...just always use a safety harness and good hunting wink

yeah i wouldn't like that at all.....if i don't have good cover i often times will put the stand on the opposite side of the tree from which i think the deer will come from, but i wouldn't want to be facin the tree....

You are right, I don't believe you. OR you haven't killed many deer with a bow.

That's what I was thinking. Looking at the pictures, I can't find a spot to put an arrow. That's another reason not to climb so high. Too much canopy, limits your sight and shots.

My great-uncle at the ripe old age of 76 has killed 8-10 deer a year for as long as I can remember and has never been in a stand or up a ladder.

I hunt on the ground and use the same method get behind the tree I use one of the small Bull Dog blinds that stand up about 40" I have been busted 1 time in 5 years on the ground the deer just happened to come out 5 feet from where I was sitting and I was really looking her in the eyes.
