Have they been bad on y'all this year? This has been the worst year I have ever seen. I have taken ticks off of me EVERYtime I have been in the woods since the season started. I've never been one to spray stuff all over me everytime I go to the woods but I think I'm gonna start.....friend of mine in Tennessee was diagnosed with Lyme's disease last summer and that kinda hit home.

I was sitting in church last Sunday morning and took two different ticks off of me during church.......even after I had come home and taken a shower. This morning was the final straw: Kinda hate to tell this but it's true. I got home this morning and went to take a leak before I got in the shower and I had a tick on the head of my goober right below the pee pee hole. He was already dug in. To say the removal was painful would be an understatement. I thought about the possiblity of that thing crawling a quarter inch farther before he dug in and somehow lodging himself in my urethra and I almost got sick thinking about it.
Anyway, what's the best over the counter stuff you can pick up to keep ticks away so I can go get some tomorrow? I don't want to deal with anymore episodes like I had today.

I think redman has gotten a few off of him when he has been with me. I started drinking cat milk before bedtime, it is supposed to keep them off of you.

Haven't gotten a one off of me this year. Brandon picked one off of his shirt sleeve on opening weekend. It's the only one I have seen all season. Seen more snakes than ticks.

Get you some permethrin.

Anything with permethrin in it will kill there arse.

I have used durranon, and some made by repel. Look for it on the label.

I may die of cancer from all of the chemicals I put on me and my clothes - but that is just a chance I am willing to take to keep ticks and chiggers off me.

Yep 3 actually: 1 under each arm pit opening Sunday and 1 crawling on me last weekend. The 2 my pits were only half dug in. Going to start trying to do a better job spraying down.

They are awful in Tennessee, i used almost a bottle of deet this weekend and I felt like I spent half my time picking ticks off me. I'm going to mix deet and permerthrin this week and if that don't work I'm carrying hair spray and a lighter and burning a 10 foot circle around me.

I had one get dug in on me in a bad place opening day. I can tell you there will be some terrible episodes of itching for the next week. I started spraying the tops of my boots and around my waistband with Deepwoods off.

I spray everytime I hunt and don't wash my clothes but a couple times a year. They stink but I stay tick free.
