Anyone else have Delta tub faucets that leak constantly? I have to replace the little rubber cups 2-3 times/year. And most of the time it’s always on the hot side. I’ve tried Delta brand replacement parts and aftermarket, no difference. They just eat up those little cups after just a few months. I don’t get it

I even replaced the valve itself thinking it was worn and was eating up the cups but the new one went through them equally as fast.

I live in Shelby county and have to replace those about once a year. I blame it on the "hard " water.

You need a pressure regulator.

I have a pressure tester (screws onto a hose bib). If you want to borrow it (I am in Tuscaloosa).

If it was a pressure issue, wouldn’t it be wearing out cups on both hot and cold? It’s almost always the hot side only. I think I’ve had to replace the cold side cup once in 2.5years (and who knows how old it was at that point since we only moved here in 2021. And no other fixtures give us any trouble

As BigEd stated - it water related. I would guess sediment from the water heater or a buildup of calcium.

Not sure if this applies to you, but FYI:

"All parts (other than electronic parts and batteries) and finishes of Delta® faucets purchased from authorized Delta sellers are warranted to the original consumer purchaser to be free from defects in material and workmanship for as long as the original consumer purchaser owns the home in which the faucet was first installed."

There are different parts for the hot and cold water sides. May want to check and see if that’s the issue.

Usually if it's the hot side its scale causing the issue. You can usually just clean it well and reinstall and your good to go until next time.

It's almost certainly a hard water issue. Hot water side produces sediment from the heating process. It wouldn't hurt to check the pressure though. I'll be in Northport/Tuscaloosa Monday if you want to PM me. Happy to check it for you.

I just finished replacing two delta faucets today. Delta would send me replacement cartridges about twice a year. They had no issues for about 10 years. I got tired of repairing them. Hoping the new ones last 10 years.

maybe switch to a ceramic faucet valve. lifes too short to worry about fixing it even if it is free.

I replaced 2 cartridges as earlier posted. 1 not mixing (no hot water) and one dripping hot water. Turn the water back on and guess what, one still dripping and one still has no hot water. What the hell

Must be all the sulfer they use, do you notice a sulfer smell? Mine leak too. So freaking aggravating.
