Sorry to hear it longshot. 16 years is a long time. Buddy (Killer Attack Dog) has slowed way down in the past two years. I’m hoping we get another 2-3 years with him, but can’t say for sure. He’s 12. Prayers for y’all.

Never could let someone else do it for me… call me weird. Tuff loosing the good ones. Hope you well That's the way I feel as well. For me, doing it isn't the hard part. Deciding it's time to do it is. I've had to put down several I've raised from pups, some on a bottle. You spend 10,12,14 years working together doing what you both love makes them more than just a dog.

Man I hate that for y’all. Out day is coming with the best one we’ve ever had. Dreading that day already. The Rainbow Bridge poem comes to mind. My wife is a vet…I call her the death angel. She has had me twice go help put neighbors dog down with the last being my buddy’s Huntin lab. I’m not gonna lie I literally was sobbing during the process with the owners. It’s going to kill me when we have to do it to our golden some day. Prayers for you and the fam as it’s terrible A good friend is a vet and put his hunting dog down himself. He said he’ll never ever do that again if he has a choice.

One the hardest things a person will ever have to do is say goodbye to a friend that’s always happy , never talks back and loves you with all his heart unconditionally. I have my own personal grave yard for my buddies . They are family
