Do not take ANY of the same luggage you use for hunting trips to the airport for an out of country vacation.

An Oklahoma man was arrested at the airport in Turks and Caicos for having overlooked 4 rounds of ammo from a prior hunting trip. The offense carries a "minimum custodial sentence of 12 years".

Totally ridiculous. In a sane world the state dept would make a quick phone call and this bs would be over. Of course, there's no way they are going to do that for a family man from MAGA country. The real lesson here is don't travel to these places. Also avoid blue states whenever possible.

What I find interesting is our own TSA did not find the ammo when they flew from the US.

That's terrible!! Hope he gets back home soon!

On another note, our TSA is a joke. I am sure they miss things all the time. FAA needs to stop allowing all the carry-on crap people take onto planes and make them check it. One bag that fits easily into a verification box before entering the security line would help with security and speed up loading and unloading planes! No exceptions.

Security in other countries is all over the map from really secure to laughable. I was just in India and they would stop and search for all kinds of things but you could carry gallons of "liquid" onto the plane without a second glance slap

I think the reason they want a carryon is to not have to wait in baggage claim, and to make sure they have their essentials if the luggage is lost.

I am all for a carry-on of appropriate size!!
Just stop with all the oversize bags, sacks, extra bags, animals etc!!

I also think having carseats/strollers available for rent once through security would be better and safer for security and have your personal seats/strollers checked.

Yes...you will have to use baggage claim at the end or just use one approved carry-on.

Or just don't travel out of the USA.

That's what I do.
