I lucked into a 2006 Honda TRX350FM the other day that sat on a trailer for 4 years. Everything was kept dry and I got it cranked briefly after draining and changing out all gas and oil. I thought I was smart enough to change out a throttle cable and get it running but it turns out I have some carb issues that are over my head. Anyone have a recommendation for someone who knows how to work on these machines and do the job right? Shade tree is fine with me and I don't need it back until planting time.

Speaking from experience in rebuilding another ATV model, if you are having carb issues, it is cheaper to just buy a new one instead of working on the old one. To me, it's not worth the trouble to rebuild it when the kit is just a slight bit cheaper than a new carb. You might luck out, as I did, and find a new carb that comes with a rebuild kit also and you can rebuild the old one for a spare.

Marks Garage in West Blocton. I rebuilt mine after sitting for over 10 years. He did the carb work for me.

I agree 100% with just replace the carb. There's no telling how many carbs I have rebuilt on jet skis and ATVs but on small engines and now on most ATVs it's cheaper and a lot easier to just buy a new one off Amazon

Order a new gasket for the Carb if it takes one.

Remove Carb Assembly

Fill a Paint Can sized bucket with a lid with Kerosene

Drop the carb intact into the bucket of Kerosene

A few days later take the Carb out of the Kerosense and blow it out with some compressed air.

Re-install.

See what happens. I've seent that work so many times I couldn't begin to count.
