Day three was all day racing at Road Atlanta. This was the American version of MotoGP. It's called Moto America. (Pretty clever name.) One of the big differences is that the American actually race big 621 pound V-Twin Baggers in a classic example of American ridiculousness. Still it was fun to watch. I timed these highly modified baggers and compared them to the Super sport class and they were off their lap times about 4 seconds. Getting in the race as a bit of a bitch, but we got to cut up with a bunch of other folks in line. The fan zone was pretty fun with all the test rides and manufacturer tents. My favorite was the Triumphs. The Bloody Mary's were nice... The "Globe of Death" is always fun to watch at motorcycle events. Yes there's a chick standing in there. The best one I've ever seen was when they had three riders in ther eall doing loops simultaneously. These guys were the 400cc class. These were at turns 10A & 10B. The old farts motorcycle club. Georgia, Alabama and Kentucky representing... These guys were the Super Sport Class. This consist of 650cc 4 cylinders, 675cc 3 cylinders and 750cc twins... These guys were shagging ass coming over this rise under the bridge after turn 10B. Lots of guys were getting airborne and getting pretty squirrelly. This was a fun place to watch. The fours were screaming, the triples were howling and the twins were thundering. Neat to see and hear the different types of bikes in a single class. My favorite class by far.

The last few races were the Super Bike class and the baggers. The Superbikes are typically 1000cc and can be about 4 seconds faster per lap than the super sports, and the super sports are extremely fast. Finally the Baggers. As if you didn't know already... Harley and Indian are the major players here with some factory backing from both. Classic, Race on Sunday, sell on Monday... Probably the favorite race of the grey beards with the faded tattoos and wannabe pirate attire. This was a cool race, and I have to give these guys a lot of credit for racing around a track on a 621 pound monster. This is like the motorcycle equivalent of Freightliner truck racing.

That Injun Bagger is one good looking bike. Looks like a good time Yeah, That's Joe's. He was going to ride his Moto Guzzi, but he got a few miles from his house and had a bad flat. He didn't want to take the time to fix it, so hauled his bike back to his house, got on his Indian and made the trip on that one. He's in the elevator business and apparently makes good money at it too.
