As the title states, I need a new boat motor thanks to some thieves taking mine while gone a few days. I guess I'm going to have to get cams everywhere on the property. The transom says 35, but it is an early 80's aluminum boat and the transom has already had work done to it. My dad used to run the creeks pretty hard, so the transom has taken a beating from submerged logs hitting the motor and jacking it. You'd had to to know my dad.
He has always run Johnson's, that's out now. Then, he bought a small 25hp Evinrude in 2010, he never used it much, a disease ravaged his body. I tried to use it some, but those motors like to be used, they don't like sitting still. I found that out. The more I used it, the better the thing ran. I just don't put one in the water often enough anymore.
I need a lightweight motor that still has enough horsepower to plain the boat, guns, 110-140 decoys depending on my mood, good for saltwater or freshwater (we both did a good job of running it in the river after saltwater), tilt, trim would be nice maybe not necessary (If it's light enough, I'll reach back and lift it if necessary), and electric start (cranking a cold motor on very cold mornings would not be good for my rotator nor bicep tendon). Did I mention the weight? I need it as light as possible, both for the transom and myself.
I can't go too low on horsepower, the intercoastal waterway can get pretty angry on winter days with the wind. That is why the 25hp would be the bare minimum.

I got a 1448 with a late 70’s 20hp on it. I ain’t ran it in 2 years but was running fine when I parked it in the barn. I take 800$ for boat motor and trailer like it sets 16” transom? Send me pics if you can. I’ll send you a pm.

I take 800$ for boat motor and trailer like it sets I still have the boat, they just stole the motor? I guess I'll have to rig something to keep them from stealing it all. Wow, just more of something to do.
