We looked at Toyotas recently and visited Hoover Toyota. We spoke with Harold MacKean, the fleet manager there. He could not have been nicer. We ended up going a different direction with the purchase but he was awesome to deal with and very forthcoming.
Be aware that a lot of Toyotas are very in demand right now and they won't budge much on price. I’ve bought two vehicles from Harold. Great guy with a great testimony. Hoover Toyota treated me right both times.

I drove to Hoover Toyota years ago when I bought my Tacoma. Great Folks

Not advocating for Sylacauga Toyota, but they beat everybody on price when I bought last year...actually only one of a few within 5 hours of me that had a discounted price and in stock, rather than msrp + dealer markup to wait 3-6months on delivery. Doing the deal and getting out was typical infuriating dealership BS and I was a gnat's hair away from walking out at one point (I still drove away pissed). They magically "found" some coupons to get the deal right after thoroughly insulting us. I'll never step foot in the door for service (I'm 3 hours away), it was only a purchase.
experience is a freakin' awesome teacher....

My daughter used Sand Mtn Toyota. She got her first "big girl" job after getting her masters degree. The salesman, Parker, was great. My daughter wanted to finance the car herself, to build some credit. I co-signed with her. The financing team dropped the ball, not once, but twice. I was ticked after the first time. The guy misquoted the interest rate and also didn't get my daughter the college graduate reduction in rate. That was actually 2 separate issues. The next problem was, the paperwork sat on someone's desk at the dealership and didn't get filed properly. Toyota financing had no paperwork on the deal, so they couldn't accept her first payment, yet her first payment was technically late because of some paperwork that wasn't filed. I told them if that showed up on a credit check that they would be talking to my attorney the next day. It was such a complete and total screw up that I asked the salesman for the owner of the dealership to call me. Mark Brickie or something to that effect. He HAS NEVER called me. I own a freaking business too. I don't make car dealership money, but I told the salesman that any time I got a good chance to run the dealership down, that I would publicly do so. So there I went. I have too much respect for my customers for me to "blow off" a request that one might make for me to call them.
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

… I asked the salesman for the owner of the dealership to call me… He HAS NEVER called me… I told the salesman that any time I got a good chance to run the dealership down, that I would publicly do so. So there I went… Same thing happened with me at Town & Country Ford in Bessemer when I bought a lemon from them back in 2006. I called the owner numerous times when he wouldn’t call me at my request. Wouldn’t ever get on the phone. I sent him letters and got no response. I ended up being told not to come back to the dealership, by a manager there after going up there numerous times. It’s been nearly 20 years and I STILL tell everyone I can to avoid that place like the plague, every time it comes up. I wouldn’t buy a vehicle there if they were selling them at half price.

I will say we had a good experience with Tuscaloosa Toyota….Terrible experience at Decatur, Decatur was gonna charge extra fees if we didn’t finance through them at a terrible interest rate, even had the big sales manager come over and act like he was gods gift to car sales, we couldn’t leave fast enough, I called Tuscaloosa who we had already talked with and the didn’t care where we got the money. Not doubting Justice’s experience as we haven’t used there service department. I will say, we were told her 4Runner she ordered would have remote start, when it arrived it didn’t, kinda pissed me off, so when I got a email about my “buying experience “, well I might have had a few beers that night, (about 7:00pm)and I told them exactly how I was feeling! I swear with in 5 minutes the sales manager had callled my wife and had her a aftermarket remote installed.
