I don't get the hate for self check our. I don't feel like I'm doing someone else's job. I like not standing behind some stinky flip flop wearing 300 lb broad at the regular check outs. Or, the coupon users. Or, the old folks that drag azz and then pull out a checkbook.

With all the threads on here about today's workforce and how lazy they are or how nobody will work, where do you suppose walmart will find all these cashiers? The self checkout was probably an attempt to solve the problem mentioned above.

I like self check out

I hav gone back and had to pay for something i missed. And one time - i checked everything out and walked out. When i got to truck - realized i paid for nothing - went back and paid for all rung up groceries

Honesty is the best policy.

I went into a Dollar General and the manager was taping a sign on the self check out saying it was closed. He told me a guy had just come in a bought $6 worth of merchandise, put it a $10 bill and the machine gave him back $94…(I guess the machine mistook it for a $100) The customer was honest and called over the manager. The manager told me DG has started taking these machine out because they are unreliable and folks are so dishonest by only scanning a few items and walking out. The entire world is going to hell in a handbasket……
