I made changes after last years 6000.00 pay out. Down to 2200.00 this year.

Hey, we have a lot of young folks' student loans to pay off and illegals needing free health care. Quit yer bitchin and pay up!

getting back $750 from the feds, way better than last year.

Paid in quarterly all last year and still owed. It hurts every time.

Meanwhile some skank who worked 10 days all year and makes a living by sponging off of welfare and pumping out babies gets 15K back on taxes.

No such thing as happy tax day for us. Ever. Plus, just got a letter from the IRS saying we owe more from a couple of years ago. No explanation for what or why and the penalties/interest accruing while they sat on it. Conveniently, you can’t seem to get anyone on the phone. We’re supposed to just blindly trust what they’re saying and cut a check apparently. Nowhere else in the real world does it work that way.

You also have to verify that its even a legitimate letter from the IRS. It could be a scammer, so you have to check that first.

Between estimated payments and what I just wrote the federal govt a check for this morning, it totals about what would have been considered a solid middle income salary for someone 5 yrs ago. It's honestly gotten ridiculous. At least I can say I probably supported a couple families of illegals (excuse me, "new arrivals") with food, phones, and housing, all thanks to my generous "contribution".

My partner got that same letter, last month, saying they'd finally gotten around to looking at his 2021 fed return and wanted him to pay an additional $8K. No explanation, or calculations, just here's what we say you owe in additional taxes, penalties and interest. After he waited on the phone for 3 hrs, he told them to send him the all back up and calculations, so that his accountants could review, and he wasnt paying another red cent until they did. His returns are CPA prepared and he told the IRS rep he talked with that he was sure that he himself knew a whole lot more about taxes than she did, and he knows his CPAs dang sure know what they are doing. Told her to send the backup or quit wasting his tax dollars sending letters. I honestly wonder if they just randomly send these letters out hoping people will make the additional payment without questioning it.

Yep. My mother’s mail comes to us. Just got a letter for her from the “Department of Justice C/O XYZ Credit Blah Blah” offering her a free credit monitoring service since the Medicare system has allegedly been hacked. Of course, all you have to do is sign up and provide all your personal information. It never ends does it.

I just said this same thing over lunch. Wouldn’t surprise me one iota.

Having to pay $750 to feds and $2400 to state. I am glad our state is controlled by true conservatives!!🤬
