Honda engine won’t start, not getting spark.
I tested the ignition coil, and it’s good, so it leads me to believe it’s the kill switch.
I texted continuity with the kill switch in the off position and got “0” on the multimeter, as it should be. I tested it in the on position and got “OL” on the multimeter, so I have no continuity with the kill switch in the on position. This made me think it’s definitely the kill switch. However, I disconnected the kill switch and tried to start it, and got no spark still….
Thoughts?

Lol my dad is useless when it comes to fixing stuff, so I’m seeing if I can fix this one easily before he buys a new one.

Oil sensor bad or oil is low. Unplug the connector and see if it cranks after of course you check the oil

well your kill switch is changing states so it's probably not that. plus you don't want continuity from the plug to ground when running. some times the magnets on the flywheel come unglued or you could have a bad ignition coil or gap, it's hard to check an ignition coil with the ohms scale because it's so high resistance. Resistance chart said 14.8k was correct and I was getting 14.8-14.9. You’re right on the kill switch, had it messed up in my head. Guess it’s not that.

What was your testing method of "Not getting spark"?
Did you change the spark plug?

God Bless, David B. Changed the spark plug, also took the plug out and left it connected and tried to start and got no spark.

Did you ground the side of the plug to the engine, or just have it in your hand looking at it when turning the engine over? If the plug isn't grounded to the engine, then it will not spark. God Bless, David B. Yep. It has to be touching the engine. Lay it on the edge of the hole you took it out. Angle it to where you can see the gap. Get someone to spin it over.
