He is trying to buy votes. The court case will be overturned again but it wont be until after the election.

Thats the entire point of the Dems doing this stuff. Most idiots think its a done deal the second the idea gets put out in the public. Even the sorta better than a total idiot will still say...oh it hasn't been finished up yet but if I vote for Biden he will finish it and I wont have to pay off this worthless art history degree.

I agree. Though I wont vote for biden even if he forgives my loans some reform is needed. At least fix the rate to the fed's fund rate or some cap on rates within the loans.

I had some loans at 2.2% but to qualify for certain payment programs I had to consolidate my loans and now the rate on those same loans is over 6%. Some of the rules just dont make sense.

The Dave Ramsey is coming out, 1st will state didn’t attend college( got an Associate degree through an apprenticeship program) so know nothing about student loans, parents footed the bill for my brothers. What was the rate of the other loans? it seems that the only reason to consolidate and take a rate hike, is so you would come out with a lesser payment or am I totally off base?

You are correct but the problem is timing. Biden and Dems do these stunts with no real window for the courts to shoot it down before the election. And then, the Dems are so good at bitching about not getting free sh1t they blame the conservative courts and call them racist when they dont get their free sh1t. Then they work real hard to get those good judges thrown out.

Since forgave student loans. When do they get to quit making payments? Do they have to wait for the process or does it start immediately. If it’s deemed illegal do they have to repay th time frame they didn’t pay with penalty?

It’s kinda jacked up or is it?

They are smart enough to figure out how to get somebody else to pay for their 4 year long party.

I listened to NPR last week and they were discussing when a fetus felt pain. It as around 24-26 weeks they said. Then for an hour they talked about a ruling that nullifies feeling pain as no reason to stop abortions after that time frame. They used a specific case as precedent and Sotomayor massaged it in a way to dismiss that a fetus could feel pain

Basically the same thing the progressive/liberals are doing now with student loans. How it’ll jump start the economy and lower inflation when in fact this will add to inflation and dollar devaluation all to gain votes now.

I find it interesting how liberals circumvent facts and get away with it. I know how I just find it strange the right doesn’t call it out each and every time they have the opportunity to do so.

Then again it all makes sense, we’re doomed, wondering how long it’s gonna take.

If they just went back to private loans and made student loans like any other debt the problem will be solved overnight. Let those that need to declare bankruptcy get the ding for 7 years and those that dont can pay them back. Easy peasy...but no more political gains to be made by either side, so we know that wont happen.

The second government backed student loans, higher education began to be devalued. Without government involved in the loan process lenders would have to weigh the risk of lending money to folks based on that individuals merits and their chosen degree field. I’m not going to research in depth the origins of government backing student loans but I’d bet college presidents and politicians got together and saw a grand opportunity to siphon off tax dollars for their own benefit, consequences be damned. Now here we are, with mountains of student loan debt, worthless degrees and a bunch of citizens stuck in the middle because a bunch of rich elites decided to fill their pockets via the public treasury.

Precisely. We also became the most educated population the Earth had ever seen. It just went to far.

Also, I like to remind my artsy friends that an Art History Degree used to only be available at three Universities: Harvard, Yale, Columbia. Now you can get an Art History Degree in Troy, Alabama right next to a power substation and retention pond.

This. Unfortunately, the age group that keeps falling for this ruse never learns a president doesn’t have the power to do this. Even Pelosi and Schumer shot FJB down on this after he got elected. College students and the below 30 crowd want to believe this is going to happen so badly they literally refuse to see the reality of it.
