Them jokers must have had a good year last year. I could make a big enough box turtle gumbo for a Methodist church potluck supper there are so many out cruising the roads today.

rain flooded holes. I think thee game laws say you can only have one in your possession. But its been a long time since I read the rules.

rain flooded holes. I think thee game laws say you can only have one in your possession. But its been a long time since I read the rules. I don't think so "Eastern Box Turtle populations in Alabama are declining so the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources considers this species “protected.” This means they cannot be kept in captivity without a permit and they are illegal to harvest from the wild."
If you’re a common sense person, you probably don’t feel you have a home in this world right now. If you’re a Christian, you know you were never meant to.

We used to see them somewhat regularly in our yard, but haven't seen one in a number of years.

I found one the other day while mowing grass, went right over him. About the size of a silver dollar. Smallest one I ever caught. I see them move mostly on rainy mornings.

My mom had one that lived under their deck and she would throw out leftover salad fixings and fruit and it would come out ever day to eat just like a pet. It loved melon rinds best. Lived to be six or seven years old and she found it dead one day. i fed mine a little of ever thing but they favored little bream i caught out of the pond . id catch them on a bent straight pin and sowing thread using little bread balls . most of the turtles were so fat they couldn't close up . i guess i was a kid now theyd put me in jail for all the critters i had back then . mommy would yell at me daddy would laugh . lol

I usually see 1 or 2 during turkey season. Haven’t seen one this year yet.
