Yall seen the ads for this stuff? Between it and drones there won't be any turkeys left. Thank goodness they moved the season back. Bunch of dudes in hecs could wipe out all the dominant gobs in a week.

Gents, no need to wear camo anymore when we can shoot a turkey at 70 yards.

Hecs is a cheaper long term option. TSS is expensive. With hecs, you can just walk right up to one, grab him by the neck and choke him out. Zero cost after the initial investment.

When you grab that live turkey by the neck, hold your arm out as long as you can. It can get bad pretty quick. Don't ask me how I know.

Many people go to er every year over spur damage. One of many reason u dont run at a turkey and get him while he alive - its stupid and no i aint been to the er but it happens

Old timers used to run to em because of paper shells and large diameter chokes. I ran to my first one because I saw Eddie Salter do it in a video. Now I just catch my breath and thank the good Lord while he flops a few times. Off course with 3.5" #9 TSS he don't flop within 70 yards. I usually shoot em before they get to the wheat pile. That long walk to em gives em time die. Heck I killed one last weekend so far by the time I got to him he was about stiff. It was hard to take a pic for the gram with him.

I had to run one down my dad shot once, and when I finally caught him he was so very much alive I decided to just fall on him and smother him to death. I knew loose feet wouldn’t work out too well for me.

Yall don’t need HECS. My buddy that lives in the country near Thomasville always said his grandpa killed more turkeys than anyone, when he asked what was his secret was, the old man said Turkeys are actually very curious birds, when he got one close he would drop his pants, bend over and moon the Turkey. The turkey had never seen a human ass and would come close to explore and get rolled by grandpa with a 12 gauge shooting between his legs……

I never actually saw this hunting tactic but I know the old man had killed enough birds to make a full spur necklace……And that my friends is the rest of the story,……

I believe That’s an excerpt from the book old pro turkey hunter by Gene Nunnery

I put my hecs jacket to the test this morning and have to say it may be legit. I walked towards one in a field on the side of the road to about 80 yds of him and he had no clue I was there. Finally just walked back to my truck after watching him up close for 10 mins

I’m definitely no expert but I thought standard protocol was a boot on the neck!
