20% question? 20% is forecasted a lot……Is the % 20 of the area their station is covering? Will get 20% where you are? 20% of the 24 hour period. Hard to adjust a outdoor schedule when I’m not sure if anybody knows

Yes rain in Huntsville area today. The80% chance was right it did rain 80% of the area no. 80% of Wednesday no. no rain since 5:30 am.
Tough job to have forecasting something that affects so many people’s lives.

The fact that we knew it was going to do something 6/7 days ago - comes in pretty freaking handy. So - they had to refine it along the way - ok, no problem. Some folks need to be bottle fed every ounce of information I guess.

I believe they hit more than they miss. There have been significant severe weather warnings up to a week in advance and lives have been saved. How did that work 20 years ago.

Ok, without looking at a forecast what will the weather be tomorrow, 3 days from now and when do you see the next possibly bad storm set-up coming and will it be in the daylight or darkness? I'll wait... grin

Chance of rain in the morning, then windy and drier by afternoon. Sunny and windy on Friday, warmer sunny less wind by Saturday, next round of bad storms in 10 or so days would be my guess since it's spring

Well, they love weather alert days and the attention. Some are legit and some ain't.

Weather is not 100% all the time.

Best thing to do is to just not watch or listen. Pretty easy.

If it's raining or a tornado hits or its 99 degrees, so be it. Just ignore the meterologists and weather reports.

I look at it as all of Us alive today are very fortunate to have weather forecasting technology and knowledge to predict forthcoming weather events. It was not to long ago that folks were sitting ducks when bad weather was upon them with little to no notice.

Couple weeks ago they called for rain all day and it never rained.
I do not understand how they can miss the timing of storms so often and sometimes completely.

I think that predicting the weather is a lot like predicting what women are going to do.

Have you ever tried that?

I told someone the other day they seem to miss the weather more last three years than in past. I never cancel any hunting/fishing trips until I get and see. We didn’t get any rain yesterday. Supposed to be heavy winds last night and this morning and not even a breeze right now.

That's why in aviation we called them "weather guessers."

I also 100% agree with this. I saw a comparison of a weather forcecast: same location, same temperatures, etc. In the early 90s all the colors were non-threatening, now with the same temperature everything is red with little fire (hot) symbols. All part of the plan to scare the idots into submission.

local folks don't predict anything, all they do is get info from the national weather service and relay to you.

The only thing predictable about the weather is the folks who are going to complain that they didn’t get the forecast that was predicted for the area so, we bit!,ing that we didn’t get an abundance amount of rain and the flooding that comes with it and a lot of wind damage, major power outages and trees falling on people’s homes!
