Looking at taking a canoe trip up there. There's an outfitter there that runs a shuttle service. Plan on using them to take us to and from. That'll make it easy on us with one vehicle. Anyone ever been down that before? Seems there's an easy section and a challenging one (we'll be doing the easy one). Most concerned about finding a cool place to stay. Little cabin or a cool old building in one of the downtown areas would be nice. Wife really wants to stay in the silos at the Rattlesnake Saloon, but that's a solid 45 mins away. Might do that anyway if we can't find something else closer.
TIA.

Grew up 3 miles from there, it’s a good float trip and has surprisingly good fishing too.
The Fuller House Bed & Breakfast in Haleyville is the only thing I know of close to there. Nothing really unique or “cool” about to but it’s only 10-min away.

Thanks. Dismal Canyon cabins look cool. Little pricey just for two people, but that's OK.

Cabins at Elliot branch are what I would recommend.

Cabins at Elliot branch are what I would recommend. Stayed here for a fishing tourney one time. They are nice, but a little ways away. Will line up a trip soon and make a report. Looks like this weekend will be a washout.
