If Kentucky is serious about Donovan; they can probably get him. He "only" makes $6 million a year and missed the playoffs the last 2 years and has a losing record this year. I am pulling for him.

As a Bama fan...and any other team in the conferences' fans should feel the same...I don't want Donovan back in the SEC, especially at Kentucky.

He does have an overall losing record at Chicago, and as said, has missed the playoffs 3 of his 4 years there. However, his players have contracts they have to play out, unless the team decides to make a change. So he knows what he has to work with from year to year, and what he's going to need a year in advance.

At UK, he'd have to deal with the portal, NIL, and recruiting...two of which he's never had to deal with before, and one of which he didn't enjoy his last few years at UF.

He's definitely one of the ones I'd make tell me no if I were Barnhart at UK.

No doubt Donovan would be a threat; but they are going to get a quality Coach. I don't care if Adolf Rupp rises from the grave; as long as we can hold on to Oats.

Not just yanking chains but I am a member at a club up here with a prominent UK booster and he said this morning some boosters are pushing back against Oats due to some things he's said on the recruiting trail about UK and also some supposed issue with Oats and an Alabama booster buying players. I find it hard to believe that they'd hold anything he said on the recruiting trail against him because every coach does it. I find it extremely hard to believe they'd hold the booster thing against him given college basketball is the filthiest of all sports when it comes to recruiting. Oats would do an incredible job at UK with their resources and tradition.

Calipari's not the same coach he used to be; Kentucky has plenty of $$ and they just saved $33 million. They almost fired him and paid it; was definitely on the table.
