Congratulations! You made it. Your identity is more than the "power company". You'll be good here in a few weeks.

Have a great time in retirement. Enjoy your family and put the power company in the rear view mirror.

Congrats, you're going to love it!! I retired 11 years ago the 12th of this month. I started counting down from 5 years out to the minute, just had to stay till I was 55. Yourself and Mrs. Irish will absolutely love the freedom of just hop on the bikes and go! Again, congratulations, the world is finally your oyster.
I think that means you can pretty much do as you please!!

Thanks buddy! I will. Being able to work mostly from home the last few years and only working 3 days a week since the start of this year have both made the transition easier.

Congrats, Irish! I have been under a major load for the past year and 4 months, since buying into and running half of the shop. I've also been the procurement, vendor management, QA manager guys. All at the same time. My wife decided that I needed a week off. Then I decided I needed another week off too. That's coming up next week. Point is, I've been living like I was retired for the past week. You'll enjoy it.

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

Congrats Irish.
I semi retired 9 years ago and still doing a little cad work for a couple of companies. Just enough to keep me sharp.
You’re soon going to find how you were able to work at all with all the stuff you’ll have to do.
It’ll be busy at first, knocking out the big part of your ( and Mrs. Irish’s) list but then it tapers off and you’ll have more “free time” so to speak.
One of the best parts will be being able to fish or hunt during the week when things aren’t so busy on the water or in the woods. Weekends will be for hanging out with friends.
