That’s awesome! Congratulations. I understand a feeling of melancholy. I just hit 18 years with my company. 21 years in this direct line of work and 29 years total in the industry as a whole. I’m the oldest guy there now. Everyone else, all my friends I worked with for years and years are all gone. Moved on to other jobs, retired, dead, etc…. Work is a strange thing for a man. You spend the first part of it trying to get established, grow, and build a life. Then you start thinking about retirement, “someday”. Then you come to depend on it more for your sense of identity rather than the money. I’ll turn 52 this year and could probably go in about 7 years and be comfortable but I’ve about decided to get some certifications within the industry and maybe move over to the training side of things. Good luck with all your future projects. I look forward to seeing you post about them.

Congratulations brother, don’t do what I did. I retired in 2014 at 57,stayed out 3 months and went back. Ten years later I am still at it. Not gonna do it brother, but I'm glad folks like you are still out there trying to keep all of us safe. Rock on Brother.

I just want to say wow! I just got back from having cigars and whiskey with a bunch of buddies and checked the internet. I wish I had the time to respond to everyone, but I just wanted to say, "Thanks!" to everybody who has posted. I'm feeling pretty stoked right now. My lovely bride and I have just finished grilled burgers on the Kamado and homemade French fries, and I'm knee deep in the Elijah Craig right now, plus I just broke a couple of bowls of Breyer's Vanilla and brownies and cut my hand, so I can't type a lot. I'm bleeding like a stuck pig. I'm OK. I think...
