JLH frogwood and canary are solid choices.

Definitely get a JLH Frogwood and a heavy hickory. The frogwood runs really good on just about any call. JLH makes great strikers and are easy to get.

I agree you need a frog wood or ivory for the aluminum. I have a custom aluminum and the best I’ve heard on it was a pink ivory. They need a little bit hard striker. My favorite on a houndstooth glass or Stony’s glass is a tulipwood

I highly recommend Jeff Harrison JLH strikers. I own a pile of them and use his exclusively. As some noted the Frogwood is some count on almost all pot call surfaces. I also really like his carbon on slate! I also recently read it runs well on aluminum. I will have to check that out as I have a stoned aluminum pot that goes in the woods with me every time I go.
